Children’s Ministries at PLC
At PLC, kids are a big deal! Starting at Nursery Care for toddlers through Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for Preschool through 5th Graders, we are a church who cares for kids. It is our goal to partner with parents in raising their children in the faith.
The PLC Nursery provides a safe, loving, fun, educational, and comfortable Christian environment for toddlers and preschoolers while their parents participate in worship, fellowship, or educational opportunities at PLC.
The Nursery is available Sunday mornings from 8:45 to 11:50 am and is staffed by the Nursery Coordinator and volunteer caregivers each Sunday. Parents must be on campus when their child is in the Nursery.
Toddlers
PLC is a welcoming environment dedicated to preschoolers. We offer Sunday School and Nursery Care tailored to the needs of young children, ensuring they feel safe and nurtured. Our Vacation Bible School provides an engaging way for those in TK to learn and grow in their faith each July. Additionally, we have a preschool on site, making PLC a convenient and enriching place for early childhood development. Join us as we foster a love for learning and spiritual growth in our youngest members.
Preschoolers (Age 3-4)

Firmly rooted in the Word of God, Sunday School at PLC provides meaningful opportunities for a child’s faith to grow and flourish. Lessons engage students in an age-appropriate study of the Bible as one continuous story of God’s love for us. This chronological study of God’s Word is most fully enjoyed when Sunday School attendance is consistent.
Stepping Up, a classroom-style environment that welcomes 3-to 5-year-olds up from the Nursery when they are developmentally ready for a short circle/story/worship time.

Children’s Ministry at its best! Each summer over 200 students gather on our campus for a week of VBS. This event is the highlight of the year. Registration opens in spring and always sells out. VBS alumni and parents are always welcome to join in the fun as a volunteer.

Peñasquitos Christian Preschool is a state-licensed and accredited non-profit preschool sponsored by Peñasquitos Lutheran Church. We offer programs for children ages two through five years.
Elementary School Age (K-5)
At PLC, we create a vibrant and welcoming environment for elementary school kids to explore their faith. Sunday School stands out as a special opportunity for children to engage with captivating Bible stories during the school year and discover what it truly means to follow Jesus. Each summer, Vacation Bible School becomes a highlight, filled with fun activities that teach faith. Additionally, our Stepping Stones events provide essential support for parents, helping them nurture their children's spiritual growth. Together, these experiences not only enrich kids' understanding of their faith but also foster a sense of community where lifelong friendships can flourish.

A ministry of PLC in which we bless the child, gift the family, and call the parents to the promises of baptism. Stepping Stones provide family educational opportunities at specific milestones in a child’s life because we believe the family is the primary nurturer of a child’s faith.

C-MENT (Christian Musical Enrichment Theater) is the youth drama group at Peñasquitos Lutheran Church. It helps young performers grow in their Christian faith while developing musical theater skills. You do not need to be a church member or have prior experience to join! Everyone who auditions will be invited to be part of the cast and will have fun. Non-actors can also learn valuable behind-the-scenes skills like sound, lighting, set design, and costuming.
Each December, kids in 2nd-6th grade can participate in the Christmas production.
